To Get Honor....Beck and Palin Preach to the Choir!

Beck Says 'Restoring Honor' Rally is About God(excerpted from VOA News)

American conservative commentator Glenn Beck says his rally in Washington Saturday aims to "wake America up" by restoring religious principles.

At events in the U.S. capital Friday, Beck, a converted Mormon, invoked God as part of the reason for the so-called "Restoring Honor" event.

Civil rights activists and other critics have questioned Beck's motives for holding the rally on the 47th anniversary of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a Dream" speech, and at the same site -- the steps of the memorial honoring President Abraham Lincoln.

According to Rev. Al Sharpton: :Beck Rally Contradicts the Dream of Equality"
African-American rights leader Reverend Al Sharpton is criticizing the "Restore Honor" rally, accusing its organizers of calling for the "structural breakdown" of the U.S. government.

Sharpton told public broadcaster C-SPAN on Saturday that such anti-government feelings do not serve the country's interests and contradict the legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. He said the slain civil rights leader fought for the federal government to ensure equal rights for people of all races and backgrounds.

The Beck rally has stirred controversy because it takes place on the steps of the memorial honoring President Abraham Lincoln, where civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream Speech." That speech was delivered on this day in 1963
